Cruise Brews!

Wondering what kinds of brews are offered on your Disney Dream Cruise? Well, this post is for you! Let’s start at the beginning – Disney Cruiseline does permit you to bring alcoholic beverages on the ship. Alcoholic beverages must be packed in your carry on luggage. The alcoholic beverages that you bring on board are not supposed to be consumed in public places on the ship. If you do bring a bottle of wine into the dining room you will be charged a corking fee of $20 per bottle – I know what you’re thinking, you pay the corking fee even if it’s a screw on top or box of wine!

Back to the brew talk. There is a refillable mug available from Disney Cruiseline that can be used on board. The mug is made of heavy glass so it makes a great souvenir! It can be pre-ordered so that it is in your stateroom when you arrive. The cost is $14.95 and you when you refill it, you get 22 ounces of beer for price of 16 ounces of beer. So, what’s on tap? Disney Cruisers have recently reported finding Amber Bock, Stella Artois, Bud Light, Kona Brewing Company’s Longboard Island Lager, Widmer Brewers’ Drifter Pale Ale, and the club Evolution has Guinness on tap.

These are waiting for you!

The sports bar “687” (named for the shipyard block in Germany where the Dream was built) has its own draft beer. This Pale Ale is brewed specifically for the Disney Dream at a Pacific Northwest Microbrewery. It is also the only beer on tap at “687”.

Whenever you need a refill you bring it to any bar with a tap and they will change your mug for a clean one. If you don’t want to carry it around the ship anymore, you can exchange it with the bartender for a beer mug token. The next time you want a drink you simply hand the token to the bartender to exchange back for a mug.

Bottled beer is widely available – Bud, Bud Light, Heineken, Corona, Amstel, Blue Moon among others. Poolside and on Castaway Cay, you will be able to purchase beer buckets, which contain 6 beers for the price of 5 – in an ice filled bucket.

Q & A

So, how much did we spend on our bar bill for our last 4 day cruise? Well, it was $16.95. We bought 2 glasses of wine on board at Pink, the champagne bar.

Did we enjoy a few other alcoholic beverages? Yes!

How did we spend so little?

We called room service and requested two wine glasses be sent to our room – we gave a small tip. For the $14.95 refillable beer mug, we could have had a nice souvenir to enjoy our own beer in while cruising.

Are we supporting you in taking your own alcoholic beverages on board to drink in public areas?
Of course not!

What about other beverages?
Well, soda, coffee, tea, iced tea, and water are available free of charge at the drink station located on Deck 11, mid-ship, near the pools. They serve Coca Cola Products, such as Coke, Sprite, Hi-C, and Nestea.

Cheers!
